Inspired by the fashion industry of the early 20th Century the founding family Bagots, Hutton & Co. dug up the declining 1920s Irish Whiskey category with the BAGOTS brand by changing the old luxury standards into new and simplified, yet bold and provocative ways of visual expression, taste and cultural representation.
At the beginning of the 1920s, the world was still recovering from the aftermath of the First World War, which concluded a little over a year before the start of the decade, and had a profound and lasting impact on various aspects of society, culture, and fashion. A key feature of these evolving trends in tastes and fashion, and inspiration for BAGOTS, was ‘boldness’ and ‘simplicity’ that had not been observed in any industry before.
As a result of these trends Bagots, Hutton & Co., pursued the development of BAGOTS whiskey in a more modern way. In 1920s this was achieved through the progressive simplification how the product looked as the decade advanced. As for the whiskey styles — a rejection of traditions, in favour of more provocative, bolder and lighter flavours, with the creation of more natural whiskeys matured in a variety of European wine casks.
